The Ottawa Arts Council is excited to return LUCK! to an in-person event this year!

LUCK! is the Council's annual art draw and fundraiser that offers a diverse showcase of local artists and producers while supporting new projects in our arts community. Invited artists donate an artwork or art experience and guests purchase a ticket to win a creation. This evening is unlike any other in Ottawa, as every ticket is a winner!

How It Works

The emcee shuffles a deck of cards and pulls winners at random. Each card corresponds to a draw ticket. Those pulled first get first pick! Best of LUCK!

We have updated the event this year in an effort to unite artists in our community in support of one another and for a program that is intended to help the artists who contribute to the dynamic culture sector in Ottawa.

Some of the new elements to LUCK! include:

We are raising funds for a micro-grant program! LUCK! 2022 will focus on raising funds for a new micro-grant program the Council piloted in 2021 that will offer Ottawa artists (working in visual arts, theatre, literary arts, music and beyond) quick and simple access to smaller funding amounts ($200-$500) to help with subsistence, travel, materials, marketing- whatever they need to support and ignite an arts practice.

We are going multidisciplinary! The Council serves all creative disciplines; for the 2022 LUCK! We will be adding musical, dance, and theatre items to the art draw and inviting partners and artists from these disciplines to the event.
